Course Description:
Changes in scope challenge the success of even the best-planned projects. Changes that, if not addressed properly by the project manager, can undermine the success of your entire organization.
LESSONS AND TOPICS
INCLUDE:
- "Baselines and Baseline Documents": explore the critical baseline documents
and the scope, time, cost, and quality information they provide; determine if a
change event is one of scope, time, cost, or quality.
- "Baseline Variances": tools to help identify, calculate, and analyze
variances.
- "Determining Baseline Variances (simulation)": experience the kind of change
event that threatens the success of a project, the correct documents for
analyzing this change event, and determine the variances to the project plan
caused by the change event.
The course "Project Baseline Information" is the first in a group of courses that provides hands-on experience via the tools that enable project managers to analyze changes in project scope, generate alternatives, and select the most appropriate solution.
Objectives:
- Identify
baseline requirements of a project and identify the information that is relevant
to scope, time, cost and quality.
- Identify tools for computing variances from the project baseline and to
calculate these differences.
- Compute the deviation from baseline goals.

specifically in building project management skills.
